Housing Financial Aid in France

Les locataires des résidences étudiants Campuséa peuvent bénéficier des prestations sociales d’aide au logement allouées par la CAF

A Little Help from the CAF

Renters at Campuséa student residence halls may benefit from housing financial aid granted by the CAF (subject to eligibility). Calculated based on each person's financial situation, it constitutes a major advantage. Full-time students, scholarship recipients, part-timers: all Campuséans, even those with a roommate, can receive monthly student housing financial aid. This aid, granted by the  Caisse d’Allocations Familiales (family financial aid agency) exists in two different forms: "Aide Personnalisée au Logement" (APL - personalized housing aid) and "Allocations logements à caractère social" (ALS - type of social welfare housing aid).

Meet the Requirements

For these two types of financial aid, you must:
- the housing for which aid is requested must be your principal residence;
- be the holder of the lease agreement (this last item must be in your name and not your parents' or friend's).

Financial Aid Amount

The APL and ALS are extremely   variable. It depends on:
- the city where the apartment is located ;
- rent amount;
- income (scholarships, salaries, pensions…) ;
- your family's financial situation. We strongly advise visiting the Caisse des Allocations Familiales website to carry out a financial aid simulation. It will allow you to determine the most expedient financial aid for your student housing.

Plan on Delays

Like any administrative procedures, it takes time for the CAF process requests. We thus recommend putting together your request as early as possible in order to benefit from aid payments as quickly as possible.
